Beauty of Simplicity
This week’s Her Growth Collective is all about the beauty of simplicity. As it often happens, I was gifted with a reminder today of the beauty found when we pause, breathe, and quiet our minds. After the rain, a beautiful rainbow appeared behind our house. It’s not usually strange to see a rainbow in Virginia but we are currently in the desert and rain showers are very few and far between. Seeing the rainbow filled me with a sense of peace that we are where we need to be right now.
Fellow HGC badass Jacquelyn Rodriguez has been a guest on the podcast and often talks about finding the answers within yourself. I love how she always reminds us to look within rather than outside of ourselves. I believe God has given us intuition to help guide us but we (and when I say we, I mean me) get so busy trying to figure it out on our own and seek validation or confirmation from the outside world, we forget to take the time and space to really seek the answers from within.
2020 has been a challenging year for so many of us. There have been times I have been overwhelmed with things that I have broken down because I could not see any possible way to move forward. I am finally seeing that there is nothing I can do and that is the whole point! I can’t do more, say more, be more, nothing. The only thing I can do is pause, breathe, quiet my mind, and continue working on myself to be the person I feel like God has created me to be. The next right step will become clear but it’s not always in the time frame I want or the step I want to take but the gift of time keeps showing me that it happens.
Are you struggling with something that feels overwhelming? My heart goes out to you. I wish I could give you a big hug and a pep talk (which usually starts out with some curse words and ends in a prayer). If things feel out of control, then pause, take a deep breath, and remember the rainbow comes after the storm. It might be as simple as needing to breathe through the storm. Dancing in the rain is nice, too, but sometimes all you can do is breathe.
